If you still use an older version of the game please update first. It is recommended to play the Nordic scenario standalone or together with compatible mods. They overwrite each other and it will not be a consistent result. The North is changing the whole game and cannot work properly with other main mods. It avoids crashes when auto saving or quitting later. After changing your mod list please always exit and restart Banished to clean up the game from disabled mods. Red markings only point to overwritten files and do not mean a real conflict in this case. Enable the North and place it on top to adapt buildings and resources of other mods to the Nordic economy. To install this mod, extract the zip file and copy the North7.pkm to your Banished Windata directory. Sometimes it isn't easy to track down the authentic version but it's the best thing to do in the long run.Subscribe to the latest version of the North mod in Steam Workshop Installation There's a lot of copied mods out there that never get updated and don't work right. You'll know it by all the nasty comments about it breaking people's games.Īnd sometimes if you start a new modded game it'll crash once a few minutes after starting and then never again but I'm not sure why.ĮDIT: With some of these mods, you need to be sure you're getting them from the original uploader. It has since been fixed and reuploaded but if I recall correctly that bugged one is still floating around out there somewhere. There was an old version of one of them that would crash you without fail. If, by chance, you're using one of those Japanese themed mods, this might be the culprit. I regularly use close to 20 mods at the same time, even with Colonial Charter, which some people will tell you (incorrectly) shouldn't be used with other mods. If there's an actual mod limit it's got be pretty damn high. If this isn't the case, you might just need to fiddle with the load order or weed out mods that do the same thing, or alter the same files. I have yet to find a mod that you can enable mid-game with Banished. If you're trying to enable or disable mods in existing games this is undoubtedly why it's crashing. (To my knowledge if something is corrupt It won't work at all) - Maybe the game isn't properly handling mods anymore? Could it be that all of my mod files are corrupted somehow? I figure this can't be the case due to them still working properly. to no prevail.Īny ideas? Right now I'm content with playing with the mods I currently have, However I do want more "decorative" mods in the future as I can see myself running out of things to build without getting super repetitive.ĭoes the game have a "mod limit" ? Maybe I'm running too many mods at once? (Currently running with 13 enabled - however none of them seem to be "heavy" on the game.)Īny tips/helpful advice would be appreciated!Įdit1: Attempted to disable a mod instead of enabling a new mod, and still received the same error. I've backed up all my files, reinstalled the game, tried downloading different mods from different places, unsubscribed to all the old mods I downloaded that I assumed had caused the crashing to start etc. Sadly to say, I still get the same error even when trying to enable those mods.

So I uninstalled all the new mods I had downloaded from the workshop, and re-downloaded select mods. Now I've been playing with mods since the first day of the game and haven't had any issues with them, So i considered that maybe it was just a bad mod crashing the game. However - earlier when I was browsing through new mods (more or less to get new buildings so i had more variety to choose from) I picked a few out, downloaded them as usual, and as I went to enable them - my game crashed. Ok so - I've been playing Banished for about 3 or 4 days now - and needless to say, I love it.
